TPD Arrests Suspect After Child’s Death Ruled a Homicide
August 13, 2025
The Tallahassee Police Department (TPD) has arrested 24-year-old Raymona Ford in connection with the death of a 2-year-old boy, following a months-long investigation that determined the child's drowning was a result of foul play.
On May 9, 2025, officers responded to the Magnolia Terrace Apartments in reference to a child who had reportedly drowned in a bathtub. Upon arrival, first responders immediately began life-saving efforts before transporting the child to a local hospital in critical condition. Sadly, the child passed away four days later from his injuries.
Following an extensive and detailed investigation, which included findings from the Medical Examiner's Office, detectives determined Ford had struck the child multiple times, causing him to suffer seizures and ultimately drown after being left unattended in the bathtub.
After consultation with the State Attorney's Office, Ford was arrested on Aug. 13 and charged with murder.
This arrest is a testament to TPD's commitment to pursuing justice and holding accountable those who harm our community's most vulnerable. Anyone with information about criminal activity is urged to contact TPD at 850-891-4200 or provide an anonymous tip through Crime Solvers at 850-574-TIPS.
