TFD Responds to Multi-Residential Structure Fire

On April 29 at 1:53 a.m., the Tallahassee Fire Department (TFD) responded to a multi-residential structure fire in the 700 block of West Carolina Street. Upon arrival, TFD crews encountered heavy fire coming from several two-story multi-residential structures.
TFD firefighters launched an aggressive attack on the fire while conducting searches for potential occupants and evacuating the buildings. The fire impacted three separate structures, and there were no injuries to people reported on scene. TFD personnel successfully rescued one cat from the structure, but sadly, one dog died in the fire.
The State Fire Marshal’s Office is currently investigating the fire.
TFD was assisted on scene by the Tallahassee Police Department, Leon County EMS and the City of Tallahassee Utilities.
