Tallahassee Police Make Arrest Following Peachtree Drive Homicide

Today, March 26, the Tallahassee Police Department (TPD) arrested one person following the shooting incident that occurred on March 25 at a residence in the 2600 block of Peachtree Drive.

Following a thorough investigation by TPD's Violent Crimes Unit, it was determined the arrestee, 17-year-old Immanuel Grant-Hayes, was sitting on a front porch with several individuals when he manipulated a firearm and inadvertently shot one of the men sitting nearby. Upon firing the fatal gunshot, Grant-Hayes immediately fled the scene, and the victim was located deceased by responding officers moments later.

The subsequent investigation collected physical evidence and witness statements, allowing detectives to quickly identify Grant-Hayes as the shooter. After consultation with the State Attorney's Office, TPD detectives obtained a warrant to charge Grant-Hayes with manslaughter. He surrendered himself on this date and was transported to the Juvenile Assessment Center.
