Police Seize More Than 50 Pounds of Marijuana Following Long-Term Narcotics Investigation
December 18, 2025
The Tallahassee Police Department (TPD) has arrested 34-year-old Danny Francisque, following a months-long investigation into large-scale marijuana trafficking in Tallahassee.
In October 2025, detectives with TPD's Narcotics Unit received information that large quantities of marijuana were being stored and trafficked from an apartment located in the 200 block of Dixie Drive. Detectives followed up on this lead as part of TPD's ongoing efforts to address quality of life concerns that are often associated with areas where illegal drugs are bought and sold. The investigation ultimately revealed activity consistent with illegal drug trafficking, and Francisque was identified as a suspect.
On Dec. 15, detectives observed Francisque arrive at the Dixie Drive apartment carrying three large boxes that were suspected of containing marijuana. Francisque was taken into custody and found to be in possession of a firearm.
A search of the residence yielded approximately 52 pounds of marijuana, and detectives determined the apartment was being used as a house to store drugs with minimal personal property inside.
Further investigation identified Francisque's primary residence was located in the 1500 block of Paul Russell Road. Detectives developed probable cause to obtain a second residential search warrant for that location. Prior to execution of the second warrant, an individual was observed removing items from the apartment and placing them into a vehicle. Officers contacted the individual and discovered they were in possession of ammunition and more than $6,000 in U.S. currency, all of which had been removed from the Paul Russell Road residence. When the second search warrant was executed, detectives seized additional evidence consistent with illegal drug trafficking.
As part of the broader investigation, detectives noted that in 2023, TPD's Drug Interdiction Unit intercepted a package containing approximately 10 pounds of marijuana that was intended for Francisque. At that time, probable cause for an arrest could not be established.
This arrest reflects TPD's continued commitment to keeping illegal drugs and guns off our streets and protecting the Tallahassee community. TPD reminds the public that if you see suspicious or criminal activity to contact TPD at 850-891-4200 or remain anonymous by calling Crime Solvers at 850-574-TIPS.
